This week we tested over our first part of our forces unit! We experimented with and mastered all of Newtons laws. When we come back the week after break we will continue looking at Newtons laws. We will find how many more applications there are! We will continue to look at Gravity when we come back and then delve deeper into the application!
I hope everyone has a wonderful break! This week we wrapped up our final cell unit! We tested over Mitosis and Meiosis on Wednesday and we started our first Genetics unit. We looked at DNA and RNA and even extracted DNA from a strawberry!
The week we come back from break we will look at actually creating the proteins our DNA codes for! We will go over Protein synthesis: Monday - Tuesday Mutations: Wednesday - Thursday Biotechnology: Friday I hope you all have a wonderful break! We have started to look into cell reproduction this week! We now know the different ways all our cells reproduce. Next week we will take a test over this. You are responsible for knowing the difference and the processes of Mitosis and Meiosis! We will review the day before the test in order to prepare and refresh our memory from the weekend!
Newtons 3 laws have been the focus for this week. We have practiced with our free body diagrams and our second law equation.
Next week we will have our test on the 21st! It will be over free body diagrams, you need to know how to draw them and find the missing variables (including mass, acceleration and the various forces). And it will cover our F=ma equations. We will review on Monday and prepare for our test! We have started looking at forces this week. We got to learn about Newtons 3 laws we got to practicing our free body diagrams. Next week we will practice more with these free body diagrams and look into what forces can be at play!
We started Cell energy, looking at Cellular respiration and Photosynthesis. We know how we make energy and where it comes from. We are having a quiz on Monday over what we have learned, this will help us prepare for the test on Tuesday.
After we test on Cell energy we look at Cell reproduction, Mitosis and Meiosis will be our focus for the rest of the week! This week we have practiced and learned about our current unit. We were able to perform labs to help our learning and write about what we learned about it. These reflections turned out really well and did show you had a concrete understanding of what we have been going over all week!
Next week we have our Test (Sept 7th for Physics) (Sept 8th for Biology), this will show if we have really embodied what is needed. I appreciate all your hard work as always and I hope you are able to enjoy this long weekend! |
